Mammoth Brewing Company Our Proud Sponsor
Welcomes Everyone To Mammoth Lakes!

Welcome to the 13th Annual Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluesapalooza! Once again we are proud to host a fantastic lineup of blues performers and over 50 of the top breweries in the country. This event has gained a reputation for being one of the best “blues and brews” festivals around and is held in the most beautiful venue in the world – Mammoth Lakes, California and the Eastern High Sierra!

Mammoth Brewing Company (MBC) is located at 8,000 feet in the heart of the Sierra and is fortunate to have some of the finest brewing waters in the world. Using organic ingredients and local hops, when available, MBC has been brewing since 1995 and has won multiple gold medal awards and first place awards from such esteemed competitions as the Great American Beer Festival and the California State Fair. Celebrator Magazine has recognized MBC as one of the most decorated but least known of California’s microbreweries. MBC is also leading the way with innovative packaging and is one of the first microbreweries in the country to utilize aluminum cans to package their beers. Aluminum is a highly recyclable and environmentally friendly package, perfect for the outdoor-oriented lifestyle of the High Sierra backcountry. This small brewery, located between Yosemite & Death Valley National Parks, won’t be a secret much longer as we are expanding into other markets throughout California and Nevada.

The Mammoth Festival of Beers and Bluesapalooza was started 13 years ago by Sam Walker in the parking lot of Whiskey Creek with just ten breweries and a handful of beer lovers. With BBQ ribs on the grill and a local garage band playing from the roof of the restaurant, it was a fun beginning! The idea behind the event was simple – have some fun and introduce Mammoth to the joys of handcrafted beers. The second year we threw in some real blues bands and a lot more breweries and we’ve never looked back. From these humble beginnings the festival is now recognized as one of the best beer and blues festivals in the United States. FUN has always been, and continues to be, our top priority!

IT’S ABOUT THE BEER!

more good beer and where to drink it

Friday, June 6th, 2008
Well now,
A few specialty kegs went out this week and here they are.

Livewire - Piper Down and Sextant
Hamiltons - Piper Down and Brother Levonian
Pizza Port Solana - Sextant and Brother Levonian
La Jolla Brewhouse - Black Marlin
La Bella - Piper Down and Sextant

Next weekend is the Real Ale Fest at Port Carlsbad.  We will be pouring a Tongue Buckler cask at the VIP session Friday in addition to casks of Even Keel, and Gingered Big Eye.

Also next weekend is the beginning of the Del Mar, er, San Diego County Fair.  I have slated, for delivery to them next week, kegs of Even Keel, Brother Levonian Saison, Big Eye and Black Marlin.  That’s 8 kegs going to the fair.  I’m not exactly sure of their plan to pour, so if anyone finds themselves at the Fair drinking our beer and wants to update the crew, please do.  I do know for sure that it is going to be ON at the Fair Saturday June 21st!  Something like 40,000 breweries and 100,000 beers (approx).  Try them all (responsibly)!!

Also, there are a few Tongue Buckler casks being tapped in the coming weeks.  Linkery has one, and promises to tell us before they tap it.  PB Taproom will tap one on Friday June 20.  And Hamiltons is scheduled to tap theirs on Friday June 27 at 5pm.

It’s getting to be fun season.  Everybody be sure to drink lots of water, eat 5 fruits and vegetables everyday, and get lots of sleep so that you can make the most of it.  Have a fine weekend y’all.  See you at La Bella Saturday night!  -Ryan G
